So I did the world a favor, and I coded a tool in C# (.NET 2.0 required) to do all of the conversions for you. Pretty much all you do is select the directory where your IWI files exist, and you're on your way. The utility allows for both IWI to DDS, and DDS to IWI conversions. The application is straight forward, but just make sure that the converter executables are in the same directory as the batch converter when you run it. I was able to convert all of the IWI files for CoD4 in less than five minutes with this tool. I hope that it comes in handy for anyone doing skinning projects, overlays, or whatever :) NOTES: This is open-source software. Forgive me for not commenting my code (it's included in the zip file), and some of it is confusing to understand. BUGS: - The program receives bogus return values from the converter applications. Which means that sometimes if the batch converter reports a failure, it actually succeeded anyway. There is no way to fix this, because I didn't code the converters, and I can't control what they report to my application when they finish running. | ||
